At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, John Deere officially introduced its latest innovation in operator training—the Extended Reality (XR) Training System. This headset-based solution combines virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to create an immersive and interactive learning environment for operators, dealers, and customers.

Designed for flexibility, the XR system can be deployed across job sites, dealerships, classrooms, and events, eliminating the need for traditional stationary simulators. It is powered through advanced headsets such as Meta Quest 3 and Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise, enabling users to engage in hands-on training anytime, anywhere.

The initial rollout focuses on two machines—the 650 P-Tier dozer and the 210 P-Tier excavator—offering modules like maintenance walkarounds, control familiarization, and real-world operational simulations such as trenching and spreading. In addition, a sandbox mode allows free exploration, while a gamified challenge mode enhances skill development through timed tasks.

With future updates planned, including expanded machine coverage and enhanced features, John Deere’s XR Training System marks a significant step toward smarter, more accessible operator training in the construction industry.
